ENVIRONMENTAL INSTALLATION ART

Location: Inverewe Gardens, Inverewe Gardens Poolewe Wester Ross

Mike Dodd was a commercial illustrator specialising in children’s picture books and educational content during his career. He completed an MA in Fine Art at UWIC (Cardiff School of Art) in 2008 and the following year made a raft trip down the Mississippi of over 1000 miles in 6 weeks. This journey saw the beginning of his interest in installation art using natural materials. He has since been involved with a number of projects and exhibitions which have progressed his commitment to this kind of work.

His work there will reflect his response to a location which he has never visited before but whose potential as an inspiration and motivator for new environmental installation art would seem to be limitless. He looks forward with interest and excitement to the stimulation and challenges this residency will bring.
