Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel is a cosy former hunting lodge built in the 1880s. It sits on the northern shore of Loch Gairloch with magnificent sea and mountain views and access to local sandy beaches.
Facilities include an excellent dining room, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen and both shared and private bedrooms.
Reception is open between 08.00-10.00 and 17.00-22.00.
With wonderful panoramic views over Gairloch and the Torridon hills, the hostel is one of the top five Scottish Marine Life Watch destinations. Boat trips to watch whales and dolphins are available from the village, which also boasts fine pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, fresh seafood, a weekly market, an award-winning heritage museum, visitor centre and leisure centre. Other local activities include pony trekking, kayaking, fishing, golf and traditional distilling.
Dogs are now welcome at Gairloch Sands, for a small fee, when guests book a private room. Please notify us in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated.
